Ratsey Construction is a family-owned, owner-operated contractor serving homeowners, architects, and industry partners across the North Fork and Long Island — known for reliability, responsive service, and hands-on project execution.

Long before our company was founded in 1990, members of our family built their reputation in another demanding trade: sailmaking.

In the early 1900s on City Island, our Ratsey family members operated a working sail loft crafting precision racing sails for families such as the Vanderbilts and Morgans — work that helped power an America’s Cup victory. At sea, there are no shortcuts. Every measurement matters. Every detail must hold.

That same standard guides how we build today — whether restoring a historic home, constructing something new, or answering an emergency call when it matters most. Every project carries our family name, and we treat it that way.

Different materials.
